As a starting point on meta-model discussion, I thought I would post a paper from last year's Agent conference in which I outline the generic ideas behind a model-driven approach to agent modeling based on the Simphony efforts. The work has evolved into a generic representation that can represent models and then target arbitrary ABM platform targets (with Simhony and Ascape as initial targets). I will be posting a blog entry on where the meta-model is now, but wanted to offer this as a little more background on the ideas behind a meta-model and why one might possibly want to use one.
